Joakim Wallensteen joins BU Secretariat

Joakim Wallensteen has joined the Berne Union Secretariat as of 5th June. His primary responsibility will be as first liaison for matters relating to the Short Term Committee. He will also contribute to the broader responsibilities of the Secretariat, managing the day to day affairs of the Berne Union.

Joakim was previously a Senior Underwriter at EKN, the Swedish Export Credit Agency, and Berne Union member. He has 17 years of experience in export credit financing, mainly within the telecom and power sectors, but has also experience of investment guarantees and reinsurance solutions. Joakim holds a Master of Laws from Stockholm University and a M.sc in Business and Economics from Stockholm School of Economics.

Berne Union – ICISA joint industry survey 2017

The Berne Union and ICISA have conducted a market survey among their respective members.

The results show a mixed picture. While the prospects for many commodity exporting countries are considered modest, most members see the developments in developed economies with some optimism. However, the risks of over-regulation and protectionism are noted by some members. Please find the press release below.
