The Berne Union Digitalisation Specialist Meeting in Italy has been postponed

Due to the ongoing epidemic of coronavirus (COVID-19), and in particular an acute increase in the number of positive infections identified in Northern Italy, the decision to postpone was taken following consultation with hosts, SACE, and based on guidance from the regional Italian authorities.

Please note that the meeting is postponed, and not cancelled and we anticipate rescheduling to a new date in late OCTOBER. We are currently working with SACE to determine the most suitable date and venue.

Meeting Fees, Hotel Accommodation and Flights

•            We advise all delegates to enquire with their booking agents, airlines or providers of travel insurance at their earliest convenience regarding refund or compensation of cancelled flights

•            We are currently conferring with the Hilton Lake Hotel on the policy conditions for cancellation or transfer of room reservations and will revert to you with further guidance as soon as possible

•            In the event that any registered delegate is unable to attend on the rescheduled dates (once these are known), please contact us to arrange transfer to a colleague, or refund of fees paid where necessary

Other Berne Union Meetings

The Claims and Recoveries Specialist Meeting planned for 15-16 April, hosted in London by UKEF, has also been postponed. We are looking to make further announcements regarding the Spring Meeting, due to be hosted in Budapest by Exim Hungary from 10-14 May, shortly.

We are closely watching the developments of the coronavirus epidemic with regards to the potential impact on international travel and meetings. We will continue to keep members informed of any changes and will maintain our Corona virus information page on the Berne Union Web Platform.

We would like to apologise for the disruption caused by this postponement, amid these unusual circumstances, and thank you for your understanding.

If you have any questions not addressed in this email, please do not hesitate to contact the Berne Union Secretariat: bu-sec@berneunion.org or our reference contact at SACE, Emma Vita (e.vita@sace.it).
