EGFI, established in 1973, is the only Iranian state-owned export credit insurance company affiliated to I.R. of Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mine, & Trade whose responsibility is to support export promotion through providing Iranian exporters with overseas credit insurance cover political and commercial risks involved in international trade and credit guarantees to meet the exporters' financial requirements as well as providing PRI for overseas investment projects.

1. Export credit insurance:

• Short term and medium/long term insurance products to cover the political and commercial risks in international trade as well as contract frustration risk
• Post-shipment cover for banks via providing supplier credits and buyer credits insurance

2. Export Credit Guarantees

• Pre-shipment cover for banks/ manufacturers for working capital guarantee
• Customs Guarantee
• Project finance Guarantee

3. Bonds and counter-guarantees/ insurance:

• Contract Bond Guarantees (BBG, PBG, APG & RBG) in favor of foreign buyers/employers

• Counter Bond Guarantees in favor of local & Foreign Banks as the issuers of the main bond
• Cover for exporter against unfair calling of Bonds to cover recourse risk

4. Investment insurance:

• Covering overseas investment projects against political risks namely: war and civil war Conversion and transfer, expropriation/confiscation as well as host country's Breach of contract
