In September 2020, the Government decided organisational changes to the system of officially supported export credits consisting of export credit guarantees from GIEK and export credit loans from Export Credit Norway.

From 1 July 2021, the new agency Export Finance Norway (abbreviated to Eksfin) will supersede GIEK and Export Credit Norway and will assist Norwegian businesses, foreign purchasers and their banks with a broad range of state-backed loans, guarantees and expert advice. All current schemes and commitments will continue under Eksfin, and the Norwegian State will maintain its existing obligations. All employees will receive new mail addresses firstname.surname@eksfin.no and our new website eksfin.no will be operative.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries has appointed Ms. Tone Lunde Bakker as CEO of Export Finance Norway, effective from 1 August. Ms. Bakker is currently CEO at Swedbank Norway.

Ms. Bakke has led Swedbank since 2017 and has many years’ experience in the areas of management, customer activities and credit provision from Nordic commercial banks. Ms. Bakker holds an economics degree from Arizona State University.
